I've started wearing a pair of shooters MITTENS. The outer layer folds back, and makes a nice thin glove

I thought I'd add to this list. I just bought these today at Dick's Sporting Goods for $25.00. They are very lightweight and the info on the back of the card states they are Thermo to keep warmth inside allowing moisture and vapors to escape.

I rarely shoot in temperatures below 20 degrees and up to that point, I usually wore a pair of winter golf gloves that I simply wore out. These have grip coating on the fingers and palm area and the silver tips of the index finger and thumb are for "touch screen technology". The entire glove is a stretch fabric that is pretty form fitting to the hand with good mobility without feeling tight. So for 25 bucks I thought I'd give them a try and see how they work out.

I have found several gloves which work well for shooting that were marketed for something else. For example Martha Stewart gardening glove for ladies is nice and tight on my hand and allows me to control my camera fine. Cost - 99 cents.

I also like to use one hand warmer trading between hands. I've done that for very long days of marching band contests lasting 12 plus hours.

Frank those gloves are awesome!

I shoot in hockey arenas all weekend and found a pair of Nike fleece running gloves did the trick (from MEC). They have a thumb slider for iphone use. I thought they'd be slippery to hold the camera but I have no issue.

I uses these from Dick's Sporting Goods, Spyder Men's Core Insulated Gloves.
Excellent grip and tactile feel.
One caveat, if I am shooting a sled dog race and temps are 0 or below (Fahrenheit) I will wear a thin liner glove inside a heavy winter glove. Also carry hand warmers.
