That's a rather tempting price. Being somewhat of a gearhead, I usually buy new cams when they come out. But, for some reason, neither the d800 nor d600 ever appealed to me the way the earlier cams did. I'll have to think about this one for a while, but I'm rather concerned about whether or not the AF will be an issue. I really don't want to fool around with that issue.
Regardless, thanks for the link. I don't normally browse Adorama and wouldn't have found it on my own.
EDIT: Reading the fine print, they claim a 30 day, money back guarantee, no RMA needed. That's pretty darn good and goes a long way to easing my concern.

Well, these have "been on the bench" so like the D7K issues of the past...these should come out firing
Here's a focus problem with mine...
I would think its far more preferable to buy from a good seller here on B&S for a similar price along with receipt and a (lot of original 1 year) warranty still left.

Not really. The warranty is not transferable, although thery may fix a known defect anyway.

A) The warranty doesn't transfer legally, Nikon will often not bother checking as long as you have a receipt.
B) The sellers here all seem to want to quote prices wrong, and make you pay for the paypal fees and shipping (No paypal fees at store, usually free shipping).
C) 2 Year warranty for 79.95? Sign me up (if only I had a spare $2580).
D) I'll always buy from a good seller here, though. That doesn't make this offer lest tempting.
As long as you have original purchase receipt, Manufacturer can't/won't deny service to you... This topic has been beaten to death.
You can't point to one instance on the whole internet saying they were denied service even when they have original receipt in hand.
If you believe its non-transferable then by all means do not buy. For all the others who agree that manufacturer can't/won't deny service to you, when you have original receipt in hand and that there good people/sellers here on FM who will support you if a warranty claim is needed... can buy used ones with peace.
just my opinion. take what you want. I am out of here...
as long as you have the original warranty card from the seller, you are good. i have sent in a number of the stuff that I bought from here for warranty service.
I called Adorama and these can be returned to the store for a refund within 30 days, just like anything else which is mail ordered. However, the price is now $2599 ;-)
