Curious... aftermarket battery grips? Good, bad or ugly?

Looking at the BG-E6 but also see alternatives at a lower cost. Any brand to steer away from or is it just a case of you get what you pay for?

Canon, at $130 on the used market - it's a bargain.

Well there are some very good 3rd party grips around , but i think the bg-e6 is made of the same magnesium as the body . The canon grips for the lesser XXD models are just plastic .
