Well I purchased lens align when it first came out. I liked the idea but I never had a lot of luck with it. Not sure why. I would try it one day and get a result. Try it again and get a different result. I just concluded that I'm going to send my high precision equipment to Canon for servicing. I'm sure it was user error.
For $19 I thought I'd give it a shot. One thing I did incorrectly was use a fluorescent style light this time. It is the type that screws into a conventional incandescent fixture and is 5000 Kelvin. Not sure if it flickers or not. The manufacturer stated not ti use lights that flickered. This was just a preliminary test but I did get unusual results. The software is super easy to use.
5D3, 24-70 II @ 70mm, mirror lockup, shutter release, silent shooting, defocus between shots.
-15 to + 15 in 5 step increments. Looks like -5 is required
So I tried -7 to -3. Now it looks closer to -3
So then I tried -4 to 0
Finally I went with -5 to +5 in one step increments
So I'm going to try this under better conditions. I may take a look at Focal after the final Mac release.
