My college has an FD 300mm L 2.8 lens that isnt getting used and I want to convince them to get it converted for EF. I've really never used film lenses before and was playing with the aperture ring and lever and it didnt seem like the aperture was closing when I stopped it down even when fiddling with the lever (which I had seen close the aperture on other lenses). Is this lens broken or is that normal for this one, if its normal and I got it converted how would the lens know to close down the aperture since I assume the lever would be removed? Please inform me!!!! I'd like to get this beautiful chunk of glass into usable shape.
