Just a a few trees have started to turn at this spot along the Merced.
Best guess is another week+, if the storms don't clean out the leaves

Jim, used my Samyang 35/1.4 for this.
If I needed only one prime, this would be it.
I now use the lens sweet spot religiously & check the histogram closely.
Believe it or not, my recent film shooting has given me a different mindset.
I scouted this location out after seeing a shot in Outdoor Photographer.
But like I said, not many trees had turned yet.
Won't get back up there til just after Thanksgiving.

I had hoped for a later Oct trip, but I'm happy with this one.
Going back up the week following Thanksgiving.
I stayed in Mariposa this time, but being an hour out was a pain.
Staying at the Yosemite Lodge this time
Last year my wife booked us (family) room at the historic "Mariposa Hotel Inn", just to get away. We didn't plan on going to Yosemite, but ended up driving up the next day.
! We spent Thanksgiving here (in Mariposa) last year.
