It's Pete from Switzerland ! Big News : in the last edition of "Chasseur d'Images", the best European revue, there is a very interesting litte news. Canon is coming with the 3D at Photokina. Chasseur d'images cannot tell their readers with which CMOS format it will come ! But it will come. Chasseur d'Images is always at first here in Europe to give reliable informations. They cannot tell us more at this moment.
We have to wait for a month now, for the next edition of Chasseurs d'Images !

I've also read this yesterday and was going to post it here.... but you beat me to it!!!
The only thing that Chasseur d'Images says is that the 3D "semi-pro" will be more "nervous" (AF and burst rate I guess) and have a "chassis plus huppé" (something I don't know how to translate exactly... will get back to you on that). Also, they say that the 300D will be replaced with 3000D and it will be very aggressively priced.
I'm just hoping the 3D news comes true. It's the only model I'm really interested in.
Well I didn't know the 10D was coming to photonica as I don't even know what that is. As far as I knew Photonica is a stock photography website. Anyone care to fill me in.

Actually, it is quite new since the replacement of the 10D, a.k.a. the 30D or 20D was very similar to the actual 10D and definately not a "semi-pro" body by anyone's definition. What Chasseur d'images refers to seems to be a midrage body between the 10D (and it's replacement) and the 1DMKII which is definately interesting to me, and no doubt to many other people.
By the way, I reread the part where they talk about the 3D and they do say only "on verrait bien un 3D...", meaning "we would like to see" or "we wouldn't be surprised to see" and not necessarily we expect to see (but translation is not an exact science). Only time will tell, but I'm sure it will be interesting and that Canon will not sit on its laurels.
On page 14, edition no 266, the last version from "Chasseur d'Images, we find this text in french : "Canon Eos 3D: le remplaçant du 10D sera sans doute visible à la Photokina. Grosse inconnue : le capteur... 6 ou 8 Mpix, x 1,6 ou1,3 ? Suspense..." In English the translation will be : "the substitue from the 10D will be probably seen (or visible) at Photokina. Big unknow : the CMOS... 6 or 8 Mpix"

10DmKII,3D,4D 3000D whatever dude, I just happy with my 1DmkII for now and by the time you wait the 3D it's already early next year with back order again for another 3 months and that's not right.

Typical answer from someone who can actually afford a 1DmkII. If I could afford a top end DSLR, I too wouldn't care much about low or mid-end DSLRs, but I can't so I do.

Actually, I don't want to be picky, but part of my job is translating (although not an official translator). You can't always just translate each word individually and then think that the French expression has the same meaning as the two words translated into English. "Sans doute" often means "probably" or "most likely" depending on the context in which it is used. The unambiguous expression would have been "Sans aucun doute". The French magazine most likely chose the "sans doute" expression precisely because of its ambiguity.
