p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Unable to upload Nikon D600 from LR 4.2 to PScs-5

I'm new to light room but have been using photoshop for many years. I bought LR 4 and then updated to 4.2 which I understand has the ability to work with Nikon D600 raw files and convert
them for use on PS. Everytime I try to do this I get the message that I don't have the correct version of ACR. When I updated from LR 4 to LR4.2 wasn't this included? I'm obviously missing something here and would very much appreciate some advice. Thank you, Jim

What version of ACR is your LR using? (Help menu > About Adobe Photoshp Lightroom 4.2 ..., then look at the top right of the logo bar of that dialog.)

Note support for the Nikon D600 is listed as only 'preliminary' in ACR 7.2, whatever that means. There is a ACR 7.3 beta around, but I don't know if it is publically available yet.

Photoshop CS5 will not be able to handle D600 raw images, so when passing an image from LR to PS CS5, you need to make sure that LR handles the rendering from NEF ot TIFF.

The topic clearly states he's using Photoshop CS5 so obviously he has a version of ACR in the 6.x series.

There's a mismatch since by default Lightroom is using ACR 7.x and expects to see the same version in Photoshop; but Photoshop CS5 does not support the ACR 7.x series.

OP, first upgrade your version of ACR to 6.7 which was the latest version in the 6.x series released. There are several ways to do the update but the simplest is to click on Help > Updates from within Photoshop and allow the update routine to run.
