Herb- congratulations on the covers of the Peregrine Observer.
Re your eagle shots, #2 takes the apple pie for me (I don't much like cakes ).
The down-beat of the wings show off the colors, shapes and textures of the feathers of large birds so much better IMO than the up-beats do.

I was at the dam that day.... and well... why do my pics suck and yours are so good?
Should I:
1) Spend more money on equipment?
2) Wear more camo?
3) Take my lens cap off?
4) Steal some talent?
5) Take up another hobby?
6) Stop drinking local swill and splurge for imported beer?
