Last night after shoot, when I went to transfer my files from my card to my computer I noticed that the file names were off. I have it set to FR8_ but they were named _R8_ instead.
By the time I realized this, I had already taken my battery out to charge it for the firmware upgrade. Once the battery was charged I put the card back in checked the settings to confirm that they were still set to FR8_ and they were. I then took a couple of test shots and they were named correctly.
Anybody else seen or heard of anything like this on the 1DX?
If you set the color space of the camera to AdobeRGB instead of SRGB your file names will all begin with an underscore. The color space only affects the jpg's, not the RAW file. I do believe it also has a minor impact on the histogram since that reads from a jpg preview (not 100% sure about that though).

ok...i did switch to AdobeRGB so that explains it.
Thanks for the information.
You can use a program like Better File Rename to rename your files after you've downloaded them if it annoys you. That's what I did way back when I first got my 1D II and didn't realise what was going on.
Given name space collision and the utter meaningless of a name like IMG_4321, it make no sense not to use a renaming program like DIM 4 or Bridge or Lightroom or previously given ones. I like DIM 4 because I can rename at the point of downloading from the card and it simultaneously makes a copy on the backup bare drive. A name like (with appropriate substitutions) YYYYMMDD-hhmmss means all files sort alphanumerically and at any point in the workflow it is easy to find earlier or later versions of that file. DIM 4 does this rename automagically if you configure it.
