I have read of a few who do not seem to be happy with the new 1DX 1.1.1 firmware upgrade.
Thought I might start a thread to see how it is working you who have already upgraded.

I will wait a bit before installing this firmware version. Wanna see if there is a collateral damage of the update somewhere else.
Besides, f/8 AF is hardly an issue for me, and I am not convinced that flashing viewfinder is a good way of addressing the AF point visibility. I suppose they did what they could with the hardware they are stuck with.

I wouldn't be surprised if a few bugs were fixed too... quietly and in the background...

I'm very happy with it. They've probably done the best they could. I'll get used to the flashing, I was having a hard time getting used to the black af points and kept using a 1D4.

Ok guys, I'm not too proud, I thought I did everything after installing the firmware, made the following changes as suggested in the Firmware notice, AF Point Display During Focus should be set to the first option, Selected (constant). BUT, I'm not seeing anything different, I watched the you tube video that was posted, I'm not getting any flashing of the points.
I realize that it's probably something stupid, but like I said I've reached the point of asking for help. The older I get, sometimes just ask for help is the best choice. Don't be proud

Thanks, I have mine set to Bright, but no flashing. I'm using the star button for focusing, but people have said that it works using that, still confused?

Mine flashes fine with the AF-ON button or the * button.
You obviously have the camera in AI Servo?
You have AF point display during focus set to "selected" and not to OFF?

Update, it flashes if I have the mode set to AV ,AI Servo mode, I guess it was doing this all the time, my problem was / is, I normally use CF1, for one shot mode & CF2 which I have setup for AIServo along with other settings, etc. When I'm in my CF2 mode (AI Servo), this is where it's not flashing, I guess this is where the disconnect is. Can I set his up so it works in my CF2 mode?
