p.1 #1 · Way to test for potential battery life?

I have five batteries laying around for my 1D MKII that inadvertantly got mixed together. 2 of them were supposed to have been thrown out because they had very poor life, 2 were pretty good as I recall and 1 is realtively new. (they are all aftermarket.) The problem is I haven't used this camera in a long time and can't remember which is which. Anybody know a way to test them with a meter? Any other way? Don't really want to have to put them in the camera one by one and see how many shots they will take

Heading off on vacation in a few days and only want to take GOOD batteries!

Your charger will show you the status of the batteries, and which ones are going bad.

See page 27 and 28 of your manual

The word "battery" does not appear on page 27 or 28. Neither does the word "charger".

I don't have a manual for it and I have never seen the charger do anything other than blink or not blink when it has finished charging. How would it tell me a battery is going bad??

Say what

Page 27 is power switch (on/off) and page 28 is the shutter button.

Are you sure you are looking at a 1D Mark II or 1Ds Mark II instruction manual??

I don't see anything in the manual on how to check the capacity status of the batteries, other than advice to fully discharge before recharging to avoid reduced capacity.
