Drive to the top of the dormant volcano of Haleakala before sunrise and watch the fog roll in and up.
This view includes the big island of Hawaii.
Because the original is almost monochromatic, I'm posting the original.

How long did it take you to go to the top of the mountain?

There is a long, steep and winding road to the top of Haleakala, and the drive takes more than an hour. It usually takes longer to come down because the road is filled with bicyclist tours coasting rental bikes down to a waiting van- and there is no legal place to pass. So cars have to follow at the speed of the weak link in the bike group- from 10-15 mph.
