The light's horrid and the subject worse, but I won't have the lens for long -- it's going to shoot the World Series.
Quick summary is it's really quite good at 500 and f/2.8, excellent at f/4. Softens up quite a bit with the 2X converter at closer shooting distances but does well further out even with the 2X. Which makes sense. Assuming that was the plan.
I've heard of VALS (voice activated light stand) before but a VAM (voice activated monopod) is new to me. And forget what be rental price is going to be, how much is that going to cost just in shipping?

I think it's one of those "if you have to ask . . . " questions. It's going to be used for video from center field at the World Series. They didn't ask about shipping costs

And I assume that the VAD (Voice Activated Duopod) requires same day shipping and a food allowance, padded case and breather holes.
