Hello all, I recently purchased a used D3 on this forum. When I tried to format a memory card I was unable to do so. I tried using the menu option but it is grayed out and unavailable. I also tried to use the two format buttons (trash and mode) but the camera does not subsequently display the flashing "for" message to go to the next step.
All of the cards I have tried to format work on my other D3. I have looked through the manual and searched the internet to no avail.
If you are referring to the two green button reset, yes I have done that. I have not taken out the backup battery yet. The problem exists with both card slots, I cannot use the camera.
As Emily Litella used to say, and as Trenchmonkey said on another thread, "Never mind!"
I reset my folder number and that worked. Not sure how the two are related, but it is what it is.
