Hello, i had to sell my kit just over a year ago due to moving house. I am now looking to start getting back my kit and am looking for some advice on what body to go for.
Previous I have a 50D / 70-200L F4 / 400L F5.6 / some kit lens for wider shots
I used to do a lot of wildlife / animal / sports with my old kit, but also used it for holiday so basic landscapes and the normal walkabotu style shots.
At present though I doubt I will have much time get out and about for the more action shots so will be initially using the kit for holiday / walkabout / landscape etc. Also I cannot afford a good gerneral purpose lens and a long Tele at the moment.
My Initial thought was to go 7D as this was something I wanted to upgrade to previous and it made sense given the action style shootign i was doing. Having looked around though I can pickup a mint 1D3 for the same money so started wondering if they would fit better. continueing to look around I also note that the 5D2 is in the same price brackett and the thoughts of using FF do apeal.
I am looking at the 24-105L as my first lens as it seems to fit the Holdiay/walkaround I need now, will look to add a longer tele later.
So
either 7D or 1D3 > this will allow me to move to action later, but will it do now ?
or 5D2 now but does this limit me later on the action shoots ?
Questions I have then are:
How inferior is the AF on the 5D2 compared to the 50D that i had previous?
Will either the 7D or 1D3 fill the landscape (not pro) and walkabout role I need now ?
Is the 1D3 woth having over the 7D given my uses at present.
Or should I get the 5D2 now and save for 1D3/7D+tele lens as a second kit?
