DPReview says the D600 'offers the same viewing experience as the D800 and D4'. I don't have those but how does it compare to the D3 or D2X? Can someone that has both say how they compare?

Thank you,

This, along with their bizarre practice of using camera-generated jpegs to appraise image quality, is yet another example of why DPR's reviews are largely worthless.
Many have claimed the D800 and D600 finders are fine and perfectly useable. I advise you to check for yourself.
I purchased a D800 and found the finder to be awful compared to my familiar D3's. D600 could be better, but ??.
Yeah DPR D600 preview was not as good.
My local shop just got one today so I went to check it out. It's not bad but to my eye the D3 seem larger.
Thanks
It may have the same viewing experience in terms of VF coverage, but I still prefer the rounded eyepieces on the D3 and D4. I use the DK-19 eyecup on my bodies and they're great for sunnier days on the sidelines.
Having said that... I'm considering adding this neat little option so I can continue to use the DK-19. Cool thinking Nikon...
Have you looked at the Hoodeyes from Hoodman, DJ? I've been using them for years. They make all of the eyepieces feel the same to me. They have models for eyeglass wearers too.
The actual viewfinder appears to be the largest of that bunch in the picture. The big circle pad seems like it may give the viewfinder a feeling of being larger when held up to the eye.

neither is good, canon or sony A850 is better. Nuff said, it is sad that even D4 was not upgraded.
Paper wise they should be same between nikon high FX cameras except the small crop on D700.

It would be great if the DK-17M can be used with D600 via the DK-22.
But it won't. Trust me, I've tried the same for the D7000. The DK-22 is nice, but won't allow a direct fitment of the DK-17M (of which I use on my D700.)
There's a way to do it, but it's not easy, or pretty.
