nice processing and very bold composition. many of us would avoid having the log straight out from the bottom of the image. but HERE IT WORKS. good show; a lesson learned.

This would work better with a leading line.

Thank you so much guys.
I know the composition and the toning is quite unusual, but for me it is the best way to convey the feel of the pond just before sunset on a very cloudy day

I really like this, Lazlo.
Interestingly- the toning offers up a faint rainbow across the bottom (on my monitor).
Also- the fallen tree trunk appears to be dead, yet at the end is a small tree (or branch) growing. It might look really cool when leafed out in spring.

Now, as I look at it very closely, I notice the discoloration as well.
I think it is time to make an appointment with the eye-doctor.
