Hopefully I'm not the only one that loves the FOVEON output.
I never get tired looking at samples taken with Sigma Foveon based sensors. Anything from SD14, SD15, DP1, DP2, DP1s, DP1x, DP2s, DP2x, to all Merril's, DP1M, DP2M, SD1M.
To me Sigma comes very close to film output, deep, beautiful colors, super sharp without looking too digital, amazing microcontrast and lots of detail.
Please post whatever images you think is worth posting , taken only with Sigma/Foveon cameras.
I'll post some once I figure out how to do it from my Flickr account.
Above the image there is a share tab, select the size and BBcode, copy the contents of the code box(I only copy the first 3 lines which removes the writing below the picture) and paste it here in the reply box,
or on the all sizes page, pick your size right click, "copy image location" and paste it here in the reply box(you need to provide a link to Flickr to not break TOS)
Foveon firstly introduced to public was in SD9 10 years ago , it was a stunt event, and the next year in SD10.I wish that Sigma release 46mpx Foveon sensor with out microlens like in SD9 - the true-iest digital sensor ever made.
I do love foveon and also don't love sigma dslr.
I sad when I sold my SD15.
I hope that sigma would lunch FF foveon with modern future like 1Dx and I will come back to foveon DSLR again. Now only DP2M is enough for me.
I have to say I agree with what Nalahm has said to the letter. I guess it is too optimistic to think that perhaps Sigma would license the technology in the future? I had the original Sigma contraption and got rid of it because at that time I thought I needed/wanted high iso performance. Now as long as the cam does ok with iso 800 I value more a camera that would give me iso 25 ... and kind of miss that lousy body - for the look of its files. I don't think the foveon shows its stuff as well on the web. It shows its differences and magic in print best.
