I was looking through some shots from cameras I've used in the past couple of years, and was surprised at how nice the shots looked from the NX10 I briefly owned. I also recall the camera being well made and handling well.
Recently, I've been contemplating giving the NEX-7 another shot, but then I started looking at the NX20...
Noise and resolution seem very similar to the NEX-7, but the upshot is the system lenses are interesting to me, compared to the NEX system lenses. Also, I believe the AF system on the NX20 is a bit snappier, from some videos I've watched.
So, I'm probably fishing in a septic tank here, and I'll probably end up canning the idea, but has anyone been using the NX20 , and if so, what are your impressions?
I've been using a NX200 (same sensor) and have been impressed by the IQ - coming from a 5DII. If I didn't own the NX200 I would have a NX20 by now. The EVF is nice. While it doesn't have the resolution of the NEX's, it does have much better contrast and faster refresh. Same goes for the LCD - lower resolution but real nice display. It also displays a larger live view image.
The 85/1.4 is superb, the 30 and 16mm pancackes are exceptional for their size. All the lenses are a real value, expecially when found on the intermittent sales. The durability seems to be excellent. I still have my 5DII, and use the NX200 for those times when I want to take a smaller package. That also usually means sand, water, tumbles, kids - you name it. The camera and lenses have taken everything I have given it in stride.
I have the NX200 + 30mm combo. I haven't got a chance to play with it too much, but so far it seems a very nice combo. Compared to a NEX-5N which I also own, the controls are much more to my liking. The size with the 30mm is fairly compact and there is no similar combination in the NEX world. There is a good chance it might become my walk-around camera. The downside could be slow RAW write times, however I haven't found it an issue in practical use so far (using a fast card like Sandisk Extreme IV helps).
