p.1 #1 · 5DIII LCD appearing Magenta? 5d Mark III 5d3 5dMk3
Is it me or do images on the 5D Mark III LCD appear overly magenta (compared to their actual color)? I notice this especially when shooting JPG mode, and in RAW to a lesser extent.

Do you have your jpegs set at a certain profile?
Whatever the factory default is. "Standard" I presume. They come out on the computer OK (calibrated monitors). Skin tones in particular are sometimes nuclear magenta / red on the LCD, especially when in Tungsten light corrected via Tungsten WB.
When I see them I think the WB is off, when it really isn't. First wedding I experimented w/the 5D3 had me manually adding +3 green to the WB.

What firmware version do you have?
This was one of the items listed in the Firmware 1.1.2 update (they're up to 1.1.3 now):
"Fixes a phenomenon where a pink cast may develop over the image when the shutter is completely pressed with the camera’s power turned off (by the auto power off setting)."

Not mine. I suspect that Canon can adjust the tint as part of the calibration setup, so if yours is off, ask them.
The Oly 4/3 allows user LCD calibration so the image display looks natural in any light. Pretty sure Canon could implement this feature in FW if they felt there was a demand.

Did you manage to get that fixed Andrew?
I just bought mine 2 days ago, and am having the same issue
