I have had an epson 3800 for quite a while now and it has always worked great without problems. Until now.
The magenta has developed a clog I can't get cleared. I've tried about everything I've known or read up on.
MY QUESTION ... are the ink carts " pressurized " or " primed " some how ?
I took one apart and injected some " clogbuster " solution into the sack but the printer would not pump it up to the head for cleaning. The cart I used only had 2% ink left and I put quite a bit of cleaner in but no luck.
I think maybe after the puncture hole in the sack it lost prime and won't suck it up. I did seal the hole up.
Thanks a bunch If you have any ideas or fixes
Mike
I had a similar problem and ended up buying a refurbished 3880 as a solution - none of the windex tricks helped in my case ... 3880 is a lot better about clogging - only happened once in the past year.
I tried every ' trick ' I've read about and then some. Started me thinking about the solution Alex used
I know where to get after market carts you can fill with ink or cleaning solution but after buying the carts, ink and cleaner it cost about half of a 3880. Might just as well get another printer. That sucks don't it
