This is the second in a series of images I am considering for a wildlife calendar. Reworks, critiques, general thoughts, etc most welcome. This is a mountain goat in Canada.

Thank you for looking - Paul

Now that's something you don't see everyday. The angle almost makes it look like he is determined to come after you up the side of a cliff. The trees in the BG give some orientation as to where vertical is ... but it's a little difficult to get oriented at first.

Hmmm ... at changes just yet.

Paul,
Are you doing a consistent aspect ratio for the calendar?
Great angle on this shot. He's heading up the slope toward you? Or a bit more across? Either way it says mountain goat and is engaging and dynamic.
I ask about the aspect ratio because I could see this also working at close to a square crop or 4:5 format, taking from the right.

Paul, I am not an expert but I added a contrast adjustment and did a blurred vignette... This is a great capture...

Great image with a bonus from re-work!

Not sure how much file size you've got to work with, but I tried a crop to rebalance the rock formation from being quite so dominant.

Thank you all for the comments and the rework options. Not sure on the layout for the calendar just yet, so final cropping will have to wait. I do have room to work with. It isn't immediately apparent looking at the photo, but I am shooting up at him with a 400mm lens. I was not in danger of actually being charged, but wanted to give that impression through the photograph.

Cheers - Paul

Nice capture. Good goat! Might benefit from a somewhat tighter crop and some vignette, as others have suggested:

Sorry for the late response, but thank you as well Karen. I like your rendition. Seems like the tighter crop is the way to go. There is still enough environment present. - Paul
