What size power cords will I need to get to cover 2 Alien Bees 800s? I was pretty sure that I saw this covered on this forum some time ago but the search didn't bring it up. Thanks! Rick Ryan Offline • Upload & Sell: Off p.1 #2 · Power cords for Alien Bees From Buff Tech Support website when someone asked if 14ga wire was OK for 300ft run: "300' with 14ga. will be fine, but you may experience a slighly longer recycle time. Also avoid rapid firing the lights, as that can generate heat in the cords at those lengths." Paul Buff responded to this personally: "TS is basically correct. But any heat generated in the cord is distributed along the 300' length so is of no consequence. As for recycle time, the difference would be so small I don't think you would be able to measure it."
