they really need to give up on sraw/mraw at this point and go to crop mode which are actually more useful at this point, a cam like that, get your reach shots and space with crop mode but sraw and mraw are useless for that and they don't help you get more fps either

Nice, at least some progress in the Canon camp if this is finally true. Unfortunately another 1 series hyper expensive camera body I am afraid. No competitor to D800 still. But at least some progress in getting out a better sensor. Let's see what happens next month. BTW, where are now all the fanboys who shouted loud against when I predicted that such camera could be announced in 2012?

Look at the image they offer up, since when the hell has Canon offered the EOS-1/N-style depth-of-field button? I cite that because it's something I want Canon to bring back, the little pin you can poke with your pink, from the right side.

I have no doubt Canon has the ability to cram a lot of megapixel in a sensor. The only question is whether it's commercially viable or not.
The accompanying technology to produce high dynamic range or less noise in high ISO is a totally different story though. I don't know whether Canon can do that or not.
The final question is of course how much Canon will charge for it and what feature they'll keep or cripple in order to place this camera between 1DX and 5D3.

I really like the eye control on the original 3. Be great to have a new version. Agree with Stan; 40 something mill is a realistic expectation for a ff sensor.
