It has been said all in the beginning of this thread.
I use spotmetering and expose for the shadows. In SPP the exposure compensation depends on the image, white balance point control (trial and error), and the X3 fill light slider.
No extra sharpening, preferable -1 and no exxtra contrast. All pretty straightforward actually.
To get the colours right is the most important thing.
After that export TIFF and use ACR/lightroom for further adjustments.
There is no straight cure to do things, it all depends on the image and trust your eyes.
