I visited Paris last May and took this photo of a small field of grass in the Tuileries Gardens near the Louvre. I liked the way the shadow area in the upper right of the photo adds interest to the compostion. Any pp or compostion suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks for looking.
I was going to try a little dodge and burn and increase in background blacks to intensify the texture. The image is just too small to work with. Also I don't find it very interesting and that may also be related to the size. If you can post this somewhere around 600x900 pixels it would help.
The light cast some abrupt shadows. Unfortunately, the nature of the light didn't allow a sense of 3d, leaving it flat looking and didn't render it with a feeling of motion or waves.
Here's a larger jpg file with shadow touching the edge of the frame. This photo was taken midday with sun high above. I agree that the grass seems static and lacks motion which would have enhanced it. Just have to plan another trip to Paris (I wish) to reshoot it.
That's a problem in general with shooting on vacation, being in the right place at the right hour with the right light and weather conditions to catch things at their best.
