Okay, one lonely shot of a lonely leaf with a shy neighbor. More here.
I haven't made much use of my 135 L for portraits lately, so I grabbed it for this miniature outing.
Jefferson, any polarizer being used? Stunning exposure, SOCC or a touch of LR/PSing?
Am I regretting not picking up, giving a 5Dc...scratches head more n more
I've gotta get my 50mm out more

Struggling to keep up with the quality here - Edd, the two Jerry's (that sounds like a comedy team ), Onegreatcity, Photon (i like the leaf) and of course Peter and his performing fowl. So a set from the Archives whilst i process some more of my kitchen window series. I like these a lot - very simple compositions, but they are among my favourite images i've taken in the 6 years since i returned to photography. 350D / 70-200mm f/2.8L:
two from a brief walk-around a while ago, was mostly interested in getting some bokeh samples for my 24-70mm f/2.8L Mark II review that day but these are somewhat fall-sy =) both shot on the 1Ds3..

LR4
Decreased Luminance in all channels but Aqua…decreased Green and Blue the most (-41 & -42) the others about -12 to -21, then in Saturation added back some Red +2, Orange +4, Yellow +2, then Blue +1 and Magenta +3.
Clarity +5, Vibrance +1, and overall Saturation +6 and a -6 in Shadows in Tone Curve (Linear).
No polarizer or filters...
Most of the effect is from the late afternoon light…I just tried to bring it out more
Jefferson, really nice LR tweaking, the colors and saturation look much like what Kodachrome and a tad less vivid Velvia 50 might look like with a warming polarizer. The composition is striking, looks like you had great light, and with the 50mm...who'd a thunk it
If I get out today I'll check out our Gingko tree, see if it's yellowed up yet...slap the 50 f1.4 on a 50D and give it a go! Gunzorro has opened up a new thread for primes think I give it a go also...

Super shots, 15Bit......what a great and innovative way of photographing Sun in the scene.
Thanks Peter. I confess i hadn't really thought of them in that way. Certainly it was not set up in any way by me or even consciously composed - i just happened to be standing in the right place at the right time and took the shots as my unwitting models positioned themselves almost perfectly against the sun.

Jools: I really like the contre-jour images also...
Doctorbird: You're having way too much fun with your new gears... Images look great...
Took a break from the tasks today for a few shots in the brook that runs through my woodlands. Taken with my classic FD 35mm F2.8 Tilt-Shift (with the Ed Mika FD-EOS adapter) on the 5D MkII. Full tilt and re-focus for optimum DoF.
