Up and out early this morning before the rains come into the area, and probably strip the remaining leaves down. It's been a decent color shift here in northeast CT, but the temps at night have not been low enough to cause the really strong color changes in the leaves we have seen in the past...
The 5D with 24-105L at sunrise, and 5D MkII with 70-200 MkII L in the woodlands.
I'm glad you liked the sunrise shot, as it follows the old adage "red sky in morning, sailor take warning..". Looks like more rain here over the next 24 hours. I've got some down-time next week, so I will be out hunting for more New England color.
My wife and I are looking over the GBH photos, and the "Super Duck" . Four thumbs up from us... , not only on the proximity to the subjects, but the composition/light/color. You really hit all the marks!
^^ I was thinking about that exact picture about 2 weeks ago while walking along the path Nice framing and colours. And it looks like the river was running very high - they must have opened up the sluices at Leirfoss
Thank you! It's a nice place to walk this time of year and the light was great that day.
Btw. have you ever been there when they open the sluices at Leirfoss? I would like to see it, but have never been lucky. I was at Hyttfossen in Klębu when two sluices were open and the sound was incredible. Then a man walked by and said that a few days earlier all six were open. I sure would have liked to see that...
I caught them this time last year while taking junior on a bike ride over that way. Its the only time in 6 years of living here that i've seen them. They let through a hell of a lot of water - pictures are on page 15....

Wow, impressive (and very nice shots)! Wish I could have been there.
