Looks like you have been having great fun with the 1DX...great images too!
Finally back in CT after an extended assignment. Cool temps and rain have gotten the chemistry going in the woodlands. All today with the FD 800 f5.6L (with rotating 48mm PL-C) and 5DMkII on a monopod.

For a moment I was about to ask you if it was really a 7D and how the hell did you get that 100% crop from the first image, the horses were looking so clear I was astonished.
The wild horses in NV could care less about you generally; I have had them eat apple slices out of my hand, and also had one turn on me because I was inside its' comfort zone (alpha male). If I don't end up buying a ranch out there, I am seriously considering adopting at least two, and bringing them to CT. Much better conditions back here for their long-term survival.
Peter: Thank you kindly; it is sooooooo good to be back in greener places. I did manage another trip to the Reno Air Races (three days - 100GB of photos), and came home with all of my CF cards this time. All went well there (Thank God!), and folks were truly greatful for the support in so many ways. I had reserved seats at the finish line and pit-passes to cover all bases. Allow me to post these here as they were between the "zones" if you will...
Great pictures on here so far! Below are a few of mine, all taken today. Included is my very first attempt at HDR, with the last image being a composite of two hand-held exposures.
Not getting much time out with my SLR kit at the moment due to ill health and overwork, but here's a couple from exactly this time last year (oct 2nd). It's the only time in 6 years here that i've seen the sluices open here, so i guess we chose a good time for a bike ride. Two with trusty 5D and 70-200mm f/2.8 combo, middle one with 17-40mm f/4L

Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 on 1D Mark II N - thus the "natural" vignette @ 43 mm f/6.3. I can tell you it looks much, much worse at 24 and 35 but almost fine at 50.
More to come as I'm still sorting them picz...
