Your images from the M and that L glass are great! The "Boxes" image is my favorite, love all the colors, they really are fantastic and everything is super sharp! Your 1st sea voyage shot reminds me of days sailing into the sun in San Francisco at the Bay bridge...good memories
Looks like the M has pretty good if not wonderful IQ, how do you like using it with the full sized glass and the adapter?
And, how was the cake, looks yummy?
Oh... it's not the M, it's the N (short for 1D Mark II N - see my profile for the full list of equipment I have; all but one lens have traveled with me and are thus featured in this set). Sorry to have got you confused but thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure I'll be getting the M - it really depends on how well it focuses. Especially with adapted EF glass. If it's iffy, I might just as well get a NEX since there's apparently a new adapter available which permits AF, if imperfect. There's a lot of NEX glass I'd love to use.
I'll be posting more pics from my voyage home, tomorrow.

Understood Peter, here are some birds of a different feather, a much different feather
And a pair of tiny white n yellow strawberry flowers, they grow near year round...
Just captured, handheld, 50D, 70-200 f4L IS, at around 3:30pm on a sunny SoCal afternoon!
Exquisite detail, sharpness and exposure.........those pictures should be on your wall, Jerry.

No worries, it's my old eyes
The 1D MkII N is a fantastic bit of camera, same pixel pitch as the 5Dc, and both have amazing low ISO IQ!
Yes, the NEX bodies look very interesting and capable, I've a small collection of older Canon FD glass, so I'm waiting for reviews of the 6 to come in, focus peeking seems like a great feature...if an FD adapter come out for the M, it might be an option also!
Look forward to more of your images

Thanks Peter, my lady said the same thing yesterday
Seems I've been commissioned to find a digital frame, well actually several, one for flowers, one for veggies n herbs n such, and a 3rd for macro; later a few more, catch all's for my other images. Linda's decided I must be kept busy, mustn't wasted those precious new pixels of my future 6D or 5D3, or the L glass...can't have that, now can we
The bird shot was a toughie, we have but a slim walkway near our pool and I had to maneuver about 20ft to get proper framing/detail...the fun bit was putting things in reverse and not ending up a bit tooooo wet!

That gives the expression "power zoom" a new meaning.

Indeed it does with a full charge, relatively flat terra firma, 6mph on average, this power zoom has an astounding zero to 12 miles or so reach...but the AF speed really does suck and my sneaking up on the unsuspecting abilities are rather unstealthy

All the best, Ilya !
Thanks!
By the way, a friend gave me a circular polarizer as a gift, in 67mm size. I'm not really experienced with such things so should I put it away until spring when there's some sun? Oh, I wish he'd given it to me one day earlier (he was running slightly late anyways ) because I was out shooting landscapes and they turned out looking pretty washed out because of the sun. Today I'll be processing the shots to see what can be saved.
