What do you all think? I absolutely love this set, but I'm not sure if it's the photographer or the couple that's doing it for me. I mean, while the photographer is obviously very very good, none of her other sets evokes this type of reaction from me.
It's basically both. Although the photographer has only one other wedding posted on that blog, the shooting and processing style are both consistent to the photographer. In the wedding you posted, the couple DEFINITELY adds an element that brings even more to life than any other wedding would. In my opinion, the couple adds a dynamic to this collection that rivals the photographer's style. It's a 50/50 to me.
Very cool and innovative. Shows a great eye, and it's very connected with the subject's personal style. Some of the shots look OOF, though, and I'm not saying the ones that were done that way intentionally (motion blur, etc.). Maybe that plays well with the earthy feel.
That would have been a fun shoot. I live in an area of Minneapolis chock-full of people like that (uptown). I would love to shoot more "punk-as-f$%k" weddings, I have only done one that was nowhere near as edgy as that!
funny you asked that as I just saw the same couple wedding film a few weeks ago on vimeo and asked myself exactly the same question you are asking now, I really really loved that film (even though it's not usually the kind of style I like) and wondered is it the couple or the photographer who made it so awesome as the other films from that cinematographer didn't rally do it for me. I guess I have an answer now...
very cool. I think that is a great example of what happens when the couple aligns very well with the photographer. it's definitely a collaborative success.
Extra, extraordinary- I'd say 60% photog, 40% couple. Together they were a perfect match for each other. Great set and a cinematographer's work also is very good.
I would LOVE to photograph a couple that is so open and relaxed about who they are. They are willing to show the world and the photographer captured it right.
Very awesome couple & shots. As stated earlier - you can almost feel the vibe around them from those photos - I'm sure that they all clicked well before the wedding, to pull this off. And the video just adds even more.
