p.1 #1 · Turning down clients tactfully due to fit
I'm getting more busy to the point where I do want to start choosing my clients (I want to leave time for my family). What do you do when on your first meeting with bride, she wants to book you right then with deposit in hand, and your feeling is that they are not a fit for you? At this point you've confirmed you are available that day prior to meeting with them - so how do you approach that?

Give them a very good reason as to why you don't think you would be a good fit and then let them decide if they still want to go ahead.
I would also be interested in what the red flag could be. I mean if the client were telling you they had a huge shot list for you in the interview you would simply tell them you don't work to anyones shot list so if they still booked you then that is no longer a problem right?
Identify any headaches in the meeting and nip them in the bud right there.

Thanks! Referrals are a good idea!
I don't have a bridezilla yet but I just want to have something prepared. I'm not FT and I have no intentions of going FT with photography, so I don't want to take on too many jobs what with my day job and my little one & DH that I love to spend time with. I was recently featured on a blog and suddenly I'm getting a lot of inquiries. I'm a little iffy about what kind of brides that certain blog brings. Meeting the first of those clients tmr, I will see!
