Just got back from a bridal shoot with a wonderful girl. I met her in Cancun when I shot her friends wedding last year. She hired me to shoot her wedding next month. We had a great time shooting her bridal shots tonight. I haven't started editing them but I had to share these.
Very rarely does a girl look classy drinking a beer...at least in my books. So, I am not a fan of #1 personally. It is very well executed, though...I am sure she will love it.

Thanks Joel. We did that shot just for fun.
#2? She paid good money for that dress, so I'm guessing she would like all of it to be in focus. Her hands are also OOF, which is really distracting. #3 is much better, IMO.

My clients pay good money for wedding venues. Shall I stop blurring the background too?

Shall I? Should I? Must I? Can I? May I? I'll assume you're being facetious. My wife also doesn't like the tilt-shift effect in this particular image; she said it hurts her eyes. Maybe the bride will love it. In retrospect, apologies to the OP, as he didn't ask for C&C.
in the second two shots, notice how both her hips and shoulders are pretty much completely square to the camera? I'd try to get some rotation in there.
#3 is fantastic. Personally, I'm not a fan of #1 at all, but just b/c the posing with the beer looks really classless.
The T/S on #2 isn't working for me at all. If you had the pose and composition from #2 with the processing and look of #3, I think that would have been great.

No worries guys. My wife hates the tilt-shift too. I use it sparingly. I'll post up some of the other shots from this session when I have time. I'm currently out of town, having just spent 13 hours shooting a wedding, thanks to Evan Baines.
She looks like someone who'd be great to work with -- a fun personality. I bet the wedding will be a hoot.
I think I could like a little of that tilt-shift, but the way it's executed in #2 doesn't work for me. Her body is thrown way OOF, but the empty space, railing, and brick walls above her head are nice and sharp. It's like the subject is unimportant compared with the negative space. I think the lighting is very nice, though. Lighting's nice in #1 and #3 too imho.
