So, I met with a 2013 bride this evening who actually knew of Jonas through his work and pintrest. It made me curious as I've never interviewed a bride that was this educated or where the conversation and what she was looking for was such a specific style. It was actually very refreshing.
Does this happen to you, and are brides educating themselves a little differently now as opposed to previous years?
Jonas Peterson, from a style perspective. I know some photographers hate clients that reference other photographers. I don't really mind, especially when I feel what they want is something I also appreciate. Obviously, nobody can be anybody else, I'm just speaking on a style level, which is like the number one connection with a bride, at least for me.
I don't think Jonas Peterson is quite at the level where he can command first name recognition (though I did know whom you were talking about). That said, none of my brides have been familiar with his work.

Just curious, how did she describe his style?
In a word, vintage.
I just thought it was interesting... from a style and branding perspective.. that she actually knew of him through Pintrest, and that she was attracted to his style.

A client hired me before because he said "your work reminds me of Garry Winnogrand". I squealed like a schoolgirl at a Justin Beiber concert.
I'd probably cry tears of joy if someone said that to me. But my work doesn't look like his, so then I'd assume they have never seen my work, and then I would leave.
