as a web designer/coder (besides photographer) i tend to avoid dynamically scaling images because of sharpness. deal breaker for me.
i would look into pre-formatted images, already sized for most browsers, to automatically get pulled. its more work but with batching it's not too bad.
overall it looks lovely, though.
I agree with you, but the sharpness was more because it was showing an image that was 400px wide at 500px, and now that is corrected. Upsizing will always look bad, but the way the site works is it is constantly adjusting to browser size, so there is no way to make optimized files for an infinite number of possibilities :/

You mean, as used by people over the age of 65?
You don't know what you're talking about. My clientele is 90% brides in their 20s and my web stats tell me that -- by far -- Internet Explorer is the browser that they're using.
I'm not getting into any wang swinging contest with you, but my findings are similar to Spencer's. I was actually shocked to see Chrome the highest ranked at 28% among my visitors. Safari was second at 24%. IE came in at, you guessed it, third... at 21%. I don't care if I know anything or not, but that's what I've experienced. The only people I know that use IE anymore are senior citizens that still like their AOL.
For the year 2011, it was 22%. So the share of people using IE that are visiting my site have dropped by 50%, or, the number of people using IE has dropped by 50%.
In 2010 it was 33% from IE. 2009 was a whopping 40.1%!! IE is dying a terrible death, and I couldn't be happier.
90% for IE is extremely high regardless of the age group..
Anyone who uses Google Analytics can see the browser breakdown for your site, you can even drill down by browser version and OS. In the sidebar it's in 'Audience > Technology > Browser & OS'
Spencer, to help mitigate IE issues put this tag in your site's <head>, it forces the newest version of IE installed to be used as well as triggering Google Chrome Frame if it's installed :
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">
Classy website cheapened by the Facebook "like me" thing on the front page IMO.
Love your philosophy page - I'd hire you for that.
RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME PORTRAITS LOCATED IN TUCSON, AZ
You may do ridiculously awesome portraits and you may be located in Tucson, AZ but your ridiculously awesome portraits are not (necessarily) located in Tucson, AZ.
This is maybe too late to be of much use, but the different types of pricing wasn’t immediately evident to me on the pricing page. Under “Plan” there are clearly delineated places to click fo the type of information I’m looking for. Under “Pricing” there’s some nebulous numbers and the hope that I’ll clock next to find the different types of pricing you have. Maybe something that more clearly indicates the different services you offer, even if it means additional clicks? This seems like a bit of a relic left over from when this page auto-advanced, and is different in operation from how the rest of your pages work (the use & information contained by a widget is clear by its design and/or label).
Aside from that, it sure is pretty. Love the site.

Working properly on Jellybean 4.1 Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch phone by Spring.
Not working properly on the ASUS Transformer running Jellybean 4.1 for tablets running a full version of Chrome. As soon as a photo is selected it's very slow to load and a white overlay is scene but no photo.
