I really like the overall concept, but pictures are soft on my mac. I use safari and it really doesn't look good- knowing your work it's a serious drawback. No problems with loading here.
Thumbnails should be sharp as hell imo to get one's attention, and to get people want more.
Just something to consider.
Due to the design and layout of the site, the images will scale to fit the width of the browser at any given time. It will auto detect the size and also give an appropriate number of columns as well. So, they have to dynamically resize, and this will cause a slight loss in sharpness. I'll see if I can get the thumbnails to be a bit sharper, but try it again and tell me what you think...I'm guessing you saw "larger" thumbnails and they were resized to show larger than the original file dimensions...I fixed that so they should look better now.
I looked for your videos on senior testimonials --which I thought were good before -- didn't see them
I'm using HTML5 but the software integrates the mobile finger touch advance as well as slide show features which I really like. Also it has optional music integration --that can be turned off and on -- which I like
also consider the full stretch to full screen that this HTML software provides for galleries:
Spencer, in your pricing section, under family portraits, I would think about moving the two packages that build on each other so that they are together and not split by the infant session. There is an expectation of continuity there, and the infant stuff is really a stand alone product.

That, however, is a totally kick butt site.

Thanks for that recommendation, it makes sense to separate ABC into its own category, since it has it's own gallery as well.
Just to comment on some of what some report... Sure, the thumbs are sometimes a little soft due to the elasticity of the layout; but they're fine when blown up in the lightbox. I wouldn't worry too much about it. That's the nature of the beast when you use thumbs for anything.
I have to say, this is pretty much what I've been looking to do for months; ever since I saw Inku's blog. I'm kicking myself that you beat me to it now. lol

I actually decided to completely change the layout for the pricing section
The blog layout is very thoughtful and fresh. I like it, it is very non bloggy but still has easy access and readability. I had no errors using it however I would just sharpen the images on the home page a bit, they do seem a tad on the soft side on my mac.
Running OSX 10.8, Safari 6.0 on Apple Thunderbolt Display
#1 issue: On the pricing page it doesn't give you enough time to read, for example on the ABC INFANT LIFESTYLE page I had to click back 3 times to finish reading about the shoot.
Same with the wedding page I get to the 3rd bullet and it switches on me.

Other than that site looks great!
Thanks for the feedback! You must have been viewing it while I was working on that, now it no longer auto-advances.
I like the look but found the lightbox very sluggish.
Just me perhaps but information pages should not scroll. The blog and the grid work for that but the info and contact would look tighter fitting to page.
Enclosed blog post are always a mistake imo. The going in and out is messy and i think it turns visitors off. I would have one post open and make the previous/next the same size font as the links on the left of screen and just have that as the navigation. Perhaps a compromise could be to load to an open post and just have a grid scroll under the next/previous links to other blog post.
It does look great but those things would tighten it up to my mind. Well done.
The only thing I dont like is the blog part. The rest is pretty bad ass.
What i dont like about the blog is I have to click eat entry. I wouldnt click each one if I were a client. But sometimes it doesnt really matter if people have to click on blog posts because your portfolio is what sells your work and your blog is just used as SEO. Guess it depends on your model.

Thats about how I view it The blog implementation isn't my favorite, but to me, it makes it quicker and easier to see which posts I'd want to view. I'll keep it into consideration. Thanks!
Spencer, personally I would use other background for the info page. BTW, I love that image!!! Unfortunately the philosophy text box is blocking the fish which I think the most important element of the image.

This is even better.
Two things. First is the background image on the engagements pricing page/slider did not load for me. Every other image loaded, but not that one...
The second is more of something for you to think about surrounding your pricing pages (and you may have already done this). I would be purposeful with which page I put first -- Do you want to be a wedding photographer primarily, or a senior portrait person. Maybe instead you could choose the page that the most inquiries come from, or the one with the most hits. Whatever you choose, I would think about it.
For me, as I start this transition from photojournalist to wedding photographer, I would have that section up first, but for you it might be something different.
as a web designer/coder (besides photographer) i tend to avoid dynamically scaling images because of sharpness. deal breaker for me.
i would look into pre-formatted images, already sized for most browsers, to automatically get pulled. its more work but with batching it's not too bad.
I went to your INFO page and my Internet Explorer 8 browser locked up! Had to open Task Manager to close out of the browser. Task Manager said Page Not Responding. Why you do this to me, Spencer?
