Cheer up Ron, you'll get a chance to give that new lens of yours a work out in no time!
Your attempt to embrace the rain payed off here... great detail and color saturation throughout... nice shot in spite of the lousy weather.

Nice shot Ron. Weather up here is a little off this weekend too. Hoping to go yakking but too wet and too much wind.
Thanx Ken. I had planned to go yakking and a trip to the mountains, but neither happened.

Ron,
Down here in the southwestern desert you can be blessed with no clouds at all, then you would be praying for rain. The light at mid day does get harsh however.

We all have our own problems Al.

Come to Scotland Ron. The weather isn't any better but after 50+ years here I look forward to the 1 day of sunshine in the year
Great pic by the way, I love it.

Thanx David. Scotland is high on my bucket list.

The weather can be a major deal breaker but you got some beautiful light on the deer.
Hope things will change soon to your liking.
Chris
Thanx Chris. We have had some good shooting weather, but not on my days off...

Well, living in the PNW, I can't complain about the weather much. But I commiserate with those suffering from regional weather problems- especially the kinds that take down trees and power lines.
I DO like the deer image dear Ron .
Charlie
Thanx Charlie. We have lost 20-30 trees during the last few hurricanes, including the largest tree on the property, but only had a little damage to the house.

I feel your pain Ron, that's what it is like here most of the year
I do like the deer, different color traits come out with the overcast.
Tim
Thanx Tim. The weather really isn't that bad, but I'm not driving 3+ hrs to shoot in iffy conditions, and I'm not taking the yak out with thunderstorms with lurking...

great picture, i think the lighting looks great, almost like a studio setting, and the weather could be worse, could be snowing
Thanx Brian. I agree - snow is not fun, but the deer do look good in the white stuff.

I'm having the same problem Ron. Nice job on this one.
Mike
Thanx Mike. We probably have the same problem because we live in the same area... We should get together to shoot some time.
