p.1 #1 · DVD or Blu-Ray for delivering slideshow & high-res images ?
What are you guys doing to deliver images to client apart from Album ? I'm looking for suggestion for DVD or Blu-Ray would be good way to deliver images and slideshow to the client.
Any suggestion on Slideshow creation ? I've in past used Aperture & iMovie to create slideshow and deliver it on DVD in high-def format (something that could be read only on Blu-Ray players and not regular DVD players. This time I'm thinking about blu-ray disc but is there a way to get custom prints on blu-ray disc ? I'm on MAC platform so Proshow is no-go unless I want to go with their web version.

I'd go with a DVD. I feel like Blu-ray is still in its fad phase, especially since it doesn't offer nearly as many reasons to switch from DVDs as DVDs did from VHS.

I have four Blu-Ray players in my home (PS3, laptop, desktop, and standalone) but would never give someone their files on a Blu-Ray disc unless specifically asked.

Thanks all for ur input, reason for delivering slideshow on bluray disc was so it is easier to play on TV at 1080p format. Regular DVD slideshow would be SD and won't look great on 60" screen.
Coming back to blurays I've more than 3 bluray players in home and it is catching up due to image quality. As I said earlier I could still do it in DVDs with bluray codec thru Toast titanium. My main puzzle is if there is way to make custom print on blurays ? I'm looking at Millers but they don't seem to have bluray.
Regular highdef files will be delivered on DVD as they can open on their computer or get printed wherever they want it.

I agree with the statement that not everyone has a blu ray device, we were just having this discussion the other day but not about the image files but for delivering HD video DVDs and my opinion was that not everyone has it though I think some have inquired about it.

Lately I've been sending it to them via a Dropbox download. It's been working out great so far. They don't have to wait for the time it takes to reach them in the mail.

I think blu ray is - still - way to early. Plus, though I don't know how big the slideshow is, I never ever did need the 4.5GB a DVD has. To my mind huge JPGs are merely to impress clients: on a tiny web image (600x400 for example) you can easily spot if the quality was 85%, 65%, 45%. But given a 12MP or larger sized image, the difference between 85% and 65% in file size is huge, in image quality it surely is not.

Either people are not doing slideshows or they are simply delivering .jpg files on disc. I think showing your work on SD on big TV is like shooting yourself in feet. You are simply showing images that donot represent what you've actually done. Anything less than 1080p is not acceptable in this HD age. Here is slideshow I did in my first wedding shoot and when delivered on DVD it was looking absolutely crap at 480p
same thing when converted to 1080p and still on DVD (but could only be played with high-def player) make it worth a watch.

No way would I send Blu-Ray. People even download movies these days (Netflix, Amazon, other) so there is no benefit over DVD even based on your 60" screen reason; especially for something as short as a slideshow.
Okay, now I know of a couple of people with Blu-Ray players. Prior to this thread I knew of NONE.

Even if the clients generally do not have the equipment to play a slide show in 1080p?
No point in sending paperweight if client is not going to use it at the same time there is no point in delivering something that would discredit your work. I'd instead provide client with online streaming slideshow instead of something on DVD.
