Both programs wont even recognize the camera. I just updated the firmware to v2, and it still dosnt show up. Thought maybe my cable was bad so I opened a brand new Canon brand white usb cable and tried it. Still no go. I know this is a EU camera for sure but Im wondering if that is what is wrong or should I start to worry? The camera gets recognized when I connect the USB so I believe the USB port is ok... uhhgg.. any help would be great.

I've never been able to get shutter count apps to work on my 7D before FW2, so I'm not surprised. I can hit a close approximation by totaling the 7D files in Aperture 3.

I was able to get a count for my 7D about 2 weeks ago on EOScount. I think there is a thread here about EOScount and the last I heard is they now charge $1.99.

Don't know about EOSinfo.

EOSCount worked for both my 50D and 7D (at least prior to FW2 upgrade - haven't tried since).

EOS Count worked fine on my 7D,

If your computer does not recognize the camera, it won't. Make sure you have Canon Utilities installed for older operating systems.

When I got my 7D, nearly 2 years ago, none of the shutter count programs worked - until I found this:

It seems to work with just about everything - but not the original 5D. But I haven't tried it since the V2 firmware upgrade.

In Europe, you have to set it on METRIC shutter count...
