Now this is a varietal that I will gladly drink up all night long! Those hummers are singin
The baby grebes are so adorable and really little miniatures...with a few extra white bars and spots...really camo'ed against mom...clever of Mother Nature!
The king is magnificent as is Wrong Way Woodie....big woodie has too many colors to be a real bird...too cool and the Angels with the mountain backdrop is pretty powerful stuff.
I'm a little slow on the turtle...its actually quite amusing that you shot it a 1/1600s...must have been motoring to freeze it as it was running up the log

So glad you like the set Eric. I'm hoping to get yet another morning with the hummers before that action slows down. The baby grebes are one of my favorites, I just love those little guys. The woodies are just starting to come into color, this time of year the males all hang out together and the woman folk raise the ducklings. The sprinting turtle was shot with those settings as I turned and took just the one frame while shooting the woodies. I have all sorts of shots of the Blue Angels, this year I was hoping to catch this shot. Maybe I'll leak in some closeups in another post.

Fantastic set Tim, each and every one. The kingfisher has to be my chose for a favourite. Aren't the grebes a little late?
Rob
Thanks Rob, so glad you like them. The grebes will keep mating as long as there is food and it isn't too cold. They start around May and I have seen young as late as September

A fine display of what good light can do for colors! One great image after another, that is a mighty fine 'King' you have there Tim I like that cool color of that turtles eye! That PBG family is like a vision puzzle to find 'jr' Gosh, Woodies lined up are pretty darn cool, #7 is making me drool
Angels in flight on that gorgeous BG are tops buddy! I think the haze you mentioned worked in your favor, the shot has a nice feel and balance to it IMO.
Karl
Thanks for the nice thoughts Karl. You know I was thinking of you when I saw the turtle. I saw that eye through the viewfinder and I was really hoping you would notice it I know you too well buddy! I would agree that the haze in the long shot of the Angels works well, it was the mid distance shots that seemed to suffer the most from it.

This is a very good mix Tim, try as I might can't pic one that is better then the other, it is the usual good stuff from you buddy...BTW the very last frame of birds is truly awesome!
John
Thank you very much John that is really nice of you to say.
KF is definitely tops of the birdies Tim with the Woodie at # 7 taking runner up.
What! I skipped #2 hummer, beautiful bg there and wonderful action too.
Love the jets against the mountain bg. I took some similar pics at the weekend here in Geneva that I might include in my next post.
Cheers,
Martin
super set tim! that looks like a very productive pond if those all came from one place. i think the second anna's is a standout for because of the detail, although the grebe chicks are really cute too.

Great variety, Tim. I like the first shot with the blurred wings and the rest in focus. Beautiful KF capture, very clear and with a fine bg.
Mama PBG on the nest is a sweet one and the clarity of the Woodie is great.
The mountain backdrop in the last image makes the shot.
Great work!
Socrate
Thank you very much Socrate! I'm partial to the first hummer myself, I'm glad you like that one. The KF was almost cooperative!
