Nice photos everyone! This little camera gives me fits. It's already resulted in my selling off my NEX system and I'm left with FF (a99) and this little sucker. It's so good and so perfectly suits my needs for skiing and climbing I really don't know how they'll top it. Maybe a bit wider and more zoom? Anyway, here's a shot from a back country ski trip last weekend.

Not bad! Were you zoomed or wide on these? Only reason I ask is that the f/1.9 at full wide angle is the best way to get lots of stars showing up. The tricky part for me is the focusing... Here's one from a mountain climbing trip last year taken at ISO 3200 wide open for around 20 seconds:

Mine were 30 second eposures on ISO 3200. Yes they were on wide angle, but then again 28mm isn't really wide lol.

I like the framing of yours more.

In hindsight, I should have done a shorter exposure (20sec) and ISO 1600 would have sufficed.

I'll remember this the next time I'm in a good location (and moonless, clear night) for these type of shots again.

Also posted in the landscapes forum but it's with an RX100 so...

In this view from the summit of Mount Fryatt you can see the 4th and 5th Geraldine Lakes and numerous other, unnamed lakes as well as Mount Edith Cavell which is a much more popular 11,000er than Fryatt due to it's close proximity to civilization. Hwy #93 snakes through the scene on far right.

Jman - on the grip - I ordered the flip back 4. Ill let you know what I think as I find it almost too small as well. Not small....slick. Great camera. Sony did seem to clean the dust off the sensor, but it worries me for the future.

Keep the zipper cases handy.

Paul, I think you need to remove the 's' from https, but before you do that, please downscale the photo to something like 1000 on the long side; it is huge at the moment!
