Another lens that's a bargain, the Topcor RE 58/1.8
I was not expecting it's sharpness, it destroys my copy of it's faster brother, the RE 58/1.4
Actually it's one of my sharpest lenses, which really helps with manual focus.
I was thinking about buying two lenses. One under $100 and then another over $100. I think I ended up buying four. My Nex came yesterday, but had no lenses yet. I took it out and did everything I could do with it without a lens...which wasn't much.
I work from home....so the rumble of the Fedex truck.....oh boy...that's exciting....there are lenses coming.

how about the Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm F1.4? any difference in performance (sharpness , bokeh)
they are different, how much is debatable. the one comparison i saw favored the MC a bit in sharpness, though the MD had ever so slightly smoother bokeh in certain situations.

Jim how sharp is the lens? I have the previous version and I'm thinking I might have a bad copy, as it's not very sharp at all.
Sharpness is good center frame with a falloff in the corners at wider apertures. The longer SLR lens register has no corner magenta or smearng issues. The lens is light and easy to focus. I have the more expensive 30mm Sigma DN, as the reason for sale.
