A few more from our annual visit to Maine in early July. These are all from an early morning runs to Reid State Park (Rutherford Island, mid-coast). The park is closed until 9:00 a.m., with a gate closing the road in. But a couple of days earlier a ranger had told me it was OK to hike in earlier in the morning. Went back a couple of mornings later and had the park to myself. It was a good morning to be there (although it's usually a good morning when I can be taking pictures in Maine).

I was just at Reid State Park last week... it was later in the day though, and for a family trip. I wondered what it would be like to get in there for sunrise, so thanks for the peek. These are all wonderful, but I really do like everything about your Rutherford Island photograph.

I had been disappointed to find out that there is a gate across the entrance to the park, and that it did not open until 9:00 a.m.--much too late to get early morning light (at least in the summer). When I asked a ranger, they said to just park near the gate (there is an area right near the gate where you can park off the road) and hike in. They did say they preferred that you finish up and hike out before the normal 9:00 opening, but that wasn't a problem when the sunrise was at 5:00 a.m. There are some nice spots for morning light around Griffith's Head.

Michael: I love the fog in the mornings along the coast. If it is really thick, I'm always thinking of going black and white. If it's just a marine layer, the light can be spectacular. I posted some with that sort of fog a couple of days ago (see https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1137323 ). I certainly agree that fog can really present some great photo opportunities.

Where are you living? Are you around Belfast? There are a lot of great opportunities in the mid-Coast area. PM if you want me to pass along any of my favorities. Hope you enjoy the region.
