1D X may be better value than the 1Ds models, but that's not saying much.
First time I have to agree with Pixie.
However, this time at least I do appreciate Canon not trying to feed me that old bovine excrement about FF CMOS sensors being extremely expensive to fabricate.

Imo there will come a cheap intro FF from both companies this year. Nikon will bring their D600. And Canon will bring the 7D follow up as an cheaper FF intro, too. I would be surprised, if Canon would bring another high MP FF this year.
But to come back to the topic. I would love a 4500 Euro price tag for 1D X.

I also think Canon (as per the rumours) will come in with a cheaper FF camera sooner rather than later but with a slower FPS than the 5D3 and a few other cutbacks.
I would love a 4500 Euro 1Dx but I think that is at least 2 years away. It will drop of course but not to the 4500 mark any time in 2012 or 2013 (well not from any of the authorised dealers)

Bookworthy !!!
Perhaps one needs to break down this debate about Nikon D800 and Canon 5D III from a emotional perspective.
Ego may come into play rather than business stratagies. Canon speaking , so they think they are king of the hill now with there 0000 megapixels, we will show them. Nikon speaking, now lets see them top this.
