Excellent image, Scott.
Very unusual little mountains for your part of the world- I think.
Are they old volcanoes? Or dome-like chunks of granite? Or?
Charlie
This is a place you can just seat for hours and gaze at the beauty of the lake and the hills.
Excellent shot Scott.
I hope you had some Popovers at the restaurant.

I think the thinking is that the mountains were eroded and smoothed by glaciers moving south over Maine, then receding, leaving these rounded shapes and the pond.
Most of the exposed rock is granite with beautiful pinkish tones. But the BW version of the image is more striking than the color.

You've apparently been there, Lazlo. Watching the play of light on the mountains and pond with the passing clouds makes for an ever changing scene.
And the popovers were great!
