That or they didn't want the general public to have the camera before the Olympics and go through the scrutiny of determining if there were any AF issues.

Good point. If the general (internet forum) public determined that there were AF issues, obviously the Olympic photogs would not be able to get the bodies to focus. Because they don't know about any problems, everything will work. Converse placebo effect?

I've been watching some Olympic events over the tube. Seems like all the photogs are using Canon gear for coverage. Big white lenses everywhere.
