I have taken delivery of the EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4x lens. This is my dream wildlife combo when mated to the EOS-1D X camera. Will be going to Svalbard (High Arctic) in a few weeks for a Polar Bear photo shoot. You can read my review of the lens here. Wish I had this combo when I was in India. Have to wait till next year to put them to the test.
Back from an Indian Wildlife safari earlier this year. Light was rather poor and weather was very chilly in early morning and dusk. All shots were handheld and I used Canon equipment. Visit my website to see more photos and videos and take a look at the first Indian Wildlife post as well. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1068137
Wow Michael, looks like you had lots of time with the Tiger(s). I know that is an extremely rare treat. Fabulous job on him. I'm loving the Stork with the branch, killer pose!!
Michael, hope you enjoyed your trip I liked the entire series.. very good work ... My post is below your post taken from your 500mm IS F4 :-) ... pls keep sharing your series ...
I read in the newspapers a few days ago, the Indian Supreme Court issued some sort of ban on tourism in order to 'save the tiger'. My understanding is the poachers are the real threat to Tigers, the tourists' spending help to maintain the national parks and the rangers working in them to protect the wildlife.
