Lol, perhaps you're right ;>. I might get some daylight bulbs to help battle insanity. Nay, it's light enough, just being locked up inside makes me crazy. I might frolick around in a field tomorrow morning, see if that helps.
I see. Then what's the "invoice" for? I guess I'm just confused. Are they already booked with you? So for all of your clients, you spend 4-5 hours, outside of the wedding day commitments, to drive around to the venue, go over sample images, etc...?
That's some super personal attention. I strive to be at that level of service.

I dunno, it doesn't feel excessive to me. Take into account my aim is around 25 weddings a year. So I like to try and take the time to get to know them as well as I can, understand what's important to them. I'm sure it could be done in less time, but this is typically how much time it seems to take. Usually I'd meet with them once initially before booking, and then after closer to the date of the wedding to go through details at the venues, so in this case it was one longer meeting.
The invoice was for the balance. They'd booked the end of last year. So this was the final invoice. When they booked they werent 100% sure of the schedule, so I gave them a realistic estimate with an hourly rate, which we've added a couple of hours to in the end.
I'd say this was an extra commitment because of the distance involved between us, so I wanted to show that I was in tune and did care. Hence the long drive. I'm learning all the time as to how to adjust rates for different jobs and as I improve, so I may well do things differently in the future. But from the start I've always wanted to do the best I can with the photography, and for me that has always meant putting in the time and planning before.
Take that fwiw... Not trying to belittle any other approach in anyway what so ever, so just want to make sure that doesn't come across like that

Didn't come across that way at all. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. Hahah.
i am definitely sad that i cannot spend more time with my couples, especially after the wedding. we turned 12 couples to amazing friends and i am sure it would be more if we had the chance. Life is too fast for most people nowadays.
We are going for vacation together with one 2012/V couple (it was 2010 ref) in few weeks .
Anyway i don't feel it wrong, it is not just business. And if you click with the couple, especially before the wedding, it is best what you can have as starting position for wedding.
