At 14ps with an unlimited buffer, it doesn't take much of a genius to do that.
But they're not "a "photographer" that works 24/7 for a few years, doesn't care about rights, travels in a cargo hold, needs no hotel, and does not eat and drink" either.

My point is simply this..... sports photography (don't do it now, have done it in the past) is all about anticipating the action, pointing the camera at the right place at the right time, and releasing the shutter at the optimum moment to capture the dramatic peak of the action.... This, of course, requires a certain level of talent and knowhow.
With a dozen or more cameras covering all the angles and fields of view in a limited space such as a basketball court or swimming pool shooting at 14fps with an unlimited number of available shots....... you see where I'm going with this......
Look... I am fully aware that I could be full of crap on this.... time will tell whether these rigs will replace human talent at certain types of events going forward. I hope not. I hope that some real talent is still required to be behind the remote control for each one of these things.

So the next release from Canon might include a motorized zoom lens that can be controlled by the camera. Many here will w***e and b***h at Canon doing stupid things that nobody finds useful, but somewhere, suspended at an improbable angle, a robot will be smiling if it could...

You know man, it's nice they can get those photos, but it's borderline absurd. Yeah it's nice to see they can get different angles than we are used to, but it just seems so...
I mean, at what point isn't it photography any longer?

Yes the tech is impressive and I can understand for documenting something from a unique POV that this has some merit, but I'd hate to see this start to become the norm and take the human factor and skills out of the equation.
